Back To The Future with Nike MAG
The future is coming.
We're descending toward Hill Valley, California, at 4:29 PM, on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015.
Yep, that was the exact lines said by Doc Emmett Brown in the 1989 Comedy, Sci-Fi film, Back To The Future II.
We all know what this film is all about, but what makes it extra special is, today marks the exact date that Doc and Marty visits the future.
Though in the film we saw out of this world clothing and accessories that may or may not exist now, one footwear stood out...
The Nike MAG according to Tinker Hatfield is the first to come out as a specific product for a specific purpose in a specific movie.
Coming from the word "magnetic", the Nike MAG worked with the notion of magnetic levitation which of course can be seen in the hoverboard.
Fun fact: The shoes in the movie didn't actually have power-lace and the line, "Power laces!" actually came from Tinker Hatfield.
Last 2011, the unveiling event for the Nike MAG was held and the first pair was auctioned off for $37,500.
A grand total of $9.4-M was donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Shouts to Boying and Carlo for lending me and letting me shoot their pairs.
